Among the 17 re-envisioned favorites, Remixed Vol. 1 proudly debuts three brand-new smooth jazz compositions; Miss U So, The New Jazz Swing, Dear Ruth and The Long Journey. These fresh additions highlight Antonio Jackson’s continued growth as a composer, producer, and instrumentalist. Miss U So was written a few years ago, dedicated to the loss of specific relatives: Antonio’s Uncles Bernard and Uncle Al; his Grandmother MaDear, and his Aunt’s Dorthy and Kay Frances. The New Jazz Swing is a throwback to the 90’s New Jack Swing era, a song first written and performed by Antonio Jackson back in 1988 at the Jazz Ensemble Concert in Morris, MN (University of Minnesota, Morris). Dear Ruth (Part One) is dedicated to Antonio’s Grandmother, Ruth. The Long Journey is dedicated to Antonio’s wife and the journey she is currently experiencing in 2025. The new tracks weave velvety melodies with elegant instrumentation, expanding the emotional range of the project and offering a glimpse into the next chapter of his artistry.
